The quickest and easiest way to change the main color is from:
- Service Portal > Service Portal Configuration
- Select the Branding Editor
- Select your EC portal from the drop down
- Click on the "Theme Colors" tab
- Update accordingly
You will need to be in the correct application scope to make the changes (e.g., Employee Center Pro). The changes will be updated automatically. If you already have the EC open in another tab, you can refresh that browser tab to see the changes.
To change the Content Experience widget content, go to:
- Content Library
- Create the new content based on the desired type (e.g., Styled Content or Banner)
If you want to see what content is already created and published for this widget, I find it easier to go to Content Publishing > Schedule Content. I add the "Page" and "Widget Instance" columns to my list view, so I can quickly filter to my EC portal and specific widget. From here you can deactivate or whatever as needed. You can also just open some existing content to make changes.

Hi Susan,
thank you. I was able to change the schedule Content.
unfortunately i was not able to change the blu-ish dark pink-ish color of the portal from branding editor. Looks like branding editor is not optimized for ESC portal

You can change the ESC from here. You will need to first make sure you are in the correct application scope. Do you know how to do this? If you changed it after opening the Branding Editor, you will need to refresh that screen. I put Employee Center Pro in the first reply as the application scope example, but normally the OOB Employee Center is in the Employee Center Core scope. Depending on the release you are on, you may get some red error pop-ups when you select the EC portal from the drop-down. You can just close those.
If you are more familiar with CSS, you can update the Theme on the EC portal record. Below are some images to help you know which properties go with what.
