Default "My Request Filter" for sc_req_item

The default filter for sc_req_item on the Employee Center Home page excludes requested items which were opened by the person viewing the page. This makes no sense to me. Can anyone explain why these items might be excluded?

Hey,
My assumption is that the request_filter 'Service Catalog Request Portal' is intended to be the primary entry for someones own requests (and subsequential RITMs) and the filter you've pointed out is for order-guides or basket orders where someone has requested multiple RITMs for different individuals
