Experiencing performance issues in Employee Center

Since going live with Employee Center about a week ago we have been experiencing very long loading times all over the portal. A lot of our users have reported slowness on the portal on different pages and by users on different browsers and/or wifi's.

We have some customized widgets but pages that are 100% OOTB are loading slow as well. After a quick google we have tried clearing the cache on both the browser and on the instance without any improvements. 

Has anyone experienced the same problem? Or have any ideas on how to improve performance on EC or troubleshoot the issue?

Hi Andrea, 

If you haven't done any major customisation, clear cache and still observe performance issues, I would suggest checking overall instance health. 

One more interesting observation, I have faced EC performance issue when applying a custom font to the portal, it was resolved once added font attachment instead of serial font format.

In your case, it may be different. can you please specify which exact widgets and pages have the issue or it's across the portal?

Thanks for your answer! I created a case to now support. The issue was caused by a customization applied to the mega menu widget, when removed it works fine. 

Will keep your other comments in mind for further configurations of the portal, thanks. 

@Andrea44 Can I ask what customization was done that caused this? Think it would be good to know for others that hit your thread 🙂 

Sorry for the extremely late reply, I did not notice that you'd tagged me until now ðŸ˜¬. If I remember correctly we had added counters to the topics so that is showed the number of KBs/Items related to each topic. In hindsight we should've known it was a bad idea
