Hello, I am trying to link French translated KB articles to their English version.

Linking French translated Knowledge Base (KB) articles in ServiceNow involves a few steps, including creating the translated articles and linking them properly in the system. Here's a general guide to help you through the process:

1. Create the Translated Articles

  1. Navigate to Knowledge Base:

    • Go to Knowledge > Articles > Create New.
  2. Select the Knowledge Base:

    • Choose the appropriate Knowledge Base where the article should reside.
  3. Select the Language:

    • In the language dropdown, select French.
  4. Enter the Article Details:

    • Fill in the article details like title, content, etc., in French.
  5. Save and Publish the Article:

    • Save the article and publish it after review.

2. Link Translated Articles

  1. Find the Original Article:

    • Go to Knowledge > Articles and search for the original article in the default language.
  2. Add Translated Versions:

    • Open the original article.
    • Scroll down to the Translated Versions related list.
    • Click on New to add a new translated version.
  3. Select the Translated Article:

    • In the new record, select the translated article from the list of available articles.
  4. Save the Link:

    • Save the new record to link the translated article to the original one.

3. Verify the Links

  1. Check the Original Article:

    • Open the original article and ensure that the French translation is listed under the Translated Versions related list.
  2. Check the Translated Article:

    • Open the French translated article and ensure it is linked back to the original article.

  • Use Language Detection:
    • ServiceNow can be configured to detect user language preferences and serve the corresponding translated articles.
  • Localization:
    • Ensure all elements like images, links, and embedded content are properly localized in the translated article.

When I try to link the translated article, it is making me create a new article.  I do not have the option to select an article that already exists.  Please advise.
