How do I remove News from Mega Menu?

We recently updated our Content Publishing and Content Experience plugins to 30.0.3.  We now see the News and news article content types.  We do not yet have anything to publish, but "News" is displaying in the Mega Menu on our Employee Center Pro portal.  We aren't ready to use this yet, so I would like to remove it.

 

I read the overview article here in community about News functionality and it says, "Upon upgrade, the News Center page is automatically included in the Mega Menu on Employee Center Pro. At least one news article must be published on the News Center for it to appear on the Mega Menu."   I am not finding any published content for News articles but yet it is displayed in the mega menu.

 

How can I remove this while we further research and plan for its future use?

Hey @jrusso - 

 

You would need to go to the Menu option that is being used for your portal, and mark News as false.

Find the one you are using - most likely the one I have highlighted here and click on the Updated Column link:

Scroll to the Related Links area, see News center, and change Active to false:
