In Mega Menu can you hide a specific Menu Item based on role or group?

I've created a child topic under a taxonomy. This child topic is shown as a menu item in the Mega Menu for Employee Center. Is there a way to hide that menu item on the Mega Menu based on a user's role or group? I have Advanced Portal Navigation activated.

The Employee Center's taxonomy takes into account user access criteria for catalog items.

Specifically, if a logged-in user does not have access to a catalog item associated with a particular topic, the Employee Center header will not display that topic for the user.

If you need to associate a catalog item with the taxonomy but also wish to hide the corresponding topic from the menu, you may encounter a challenge: How will users locate this item within the portal? To provide more targeted assistance, could you please elaborate on your specific use case?
