Mega Menu issues with Employee Center Pro

The mega menu seemed to be working before updating our plugins to Employee Center Pro and now I cannot get the mega menu to show. I have the taxonomy active and have tried cloning it and associating the cloned taxonomy but it is not working. I only see 'More, Org Chart and Chat' as options and 'More' does not even function. Not sure where to go to check on this further. I can't add menu items through the portal > main menu > related list items like I have read about either.

@Rob Sestito does this solution also work for Employee Center?

Hey @KKrabbenhoft - are you referring to your menu items being switched around? If so, it should. EC and EC Pro get the same kind of mega menu structure among other things. Pro comes with more enhancements, such as additional widgets to be used.

Here is a nice little SN Doc to show differences Employee Center and Employee Center Pro

If you are facing some other kind of issue, may I suggest creating a new separate post with your details. And myself and/ or the community will happily help out! Only because old posts such as this one will not get a lot of traction with newer questions. And I would hate for you to not get some assistance.

Thanks,

Try this -

Problem Overview

Custom Taxonomy Issue: After replacing the Out-of-the-Box (OOB) "Employee" taxonomy with a custom "Test" taxonomy, it wasn't reflecting in the mega menu of esc portal, it appeared blank.

Steps to Resolve the Issue -

1. Sync Hierarchies:

Navigate to Advanced Portal Navigation module and open that record which is active.

Click on "sync hierarchies".

Sync Hierarchies: This function is crucial as it ensures that your changes (like new taxonomies) are reflected in the portal hierarchy. It executes the sync process to update the portal's data structure with your new taxonomy.

2. Activate Menu Titles:

Activate Relevant Menu Titles: Ensure that the menu titles associated with your new taxonomy are activated (if you have created nested menu items, then sync and activate each one of them). This step is essential to ensure that the changes are visible in the mega menu.

3. Refresh the Portal: Reload the portal to check if your custom taxonomy appears as expected.

Mark this as helpful if it resolves your problem 🙂

I copied the Taxanomy and synced as suggested. However, The Human Resource, Technology Services, Workplace are not under Help Center. What am I missing

@Simran321 - Are you able to show us your actual configuration(s) within the Taxonomy? Also, I have noticed over the last couple of years when changing EC portal menu/taxonomy "stuff", that the system may need a cache clearing. You can give that a shot and see if your menu and taxonomy updates are pushed to the portal. If that does not work, then may I suggest showing your configuration(s) for people to see, which may help resolve your issue. If you have never done a cache clear, you can do so by typing cache.do in the filter navigator from the platform view.

Thank you,

-Rob
