We've added the Favorites menu from the Employee Center. Users can favorite KB articles and requests. However, if a favorited article is retired, it isn't removed from the employee's favorites. This results in a broken link since they can't see retired articles. Is there a fix for this?

Hi @Elizabeth32 ,
End users should not be able to view the retired articles in the portal, even if they have the permalink.
Is the article definitely in the retired state? Does the user you're testing with have any elevated roles such as knowledge, knowledge_manager, knowledge_admin?

They can't see the contents of the retired article; they get a "record not found" error message. The article is definitely retired, but it's not removed from their Favorites once retired.

Same here with Record Producers. I am guessing a ServiceNow HI ticket was opened. Or was there ever a solution found here?

I am currently experiencing this too. Fortunately in our Sandbox (as we've upgraded to Washington), but we'd prefer not to run into this in PROD. The only thing I see is this HI Case but it doesn't resolve it for us:
Employee Center, accessing favorites is getting error: "You don't have access to 3 of your favorited...
