Portal Search Performance

I’m experiencing an issue with search performance in ServiceNow, and I’d like to see if others have encountered something similar or if there’s a known solution.

When performing a search, I frequently see messages like:

  • "Searching for the right info..."
  • "Gathering the best insights..."
  • "Reviewing the key details..."

However, the search takes a long time to return results, sometimes significantly delaying my workflow. I'm not sure if this is related specifically to AI Search, indexing, or another underlying factor.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, is there a known cause or recommended troubleshooting steps to improve search speed? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, did you find a solution to this issue? We are experiencing the same slowness and lagging, although it is intermittent.

FYI: PRB1852894 is a known defect impacting federal instances where the value of the glide.shared_service_scheduler.url system property is set by default to the value used by commercial instances. This can cause intermittent performance issues in some areas of the platform and is resolved by correcting the system property.
