ServiceNow - images in the 'employee center' download instead of preview

Hi all,

When you click on an image that is part of an incident via the employee central portal, the images downloads to your device.

However, when you do the same from the 'backend', there is a preview of the image.

This preview is a better user experience and helps reducing unnecessary files on disk.
(the images can still be downloaded when needed).

Does anyone know if it is possible to have a 'preview' when clicking on images in the employee central view?

Thanks.

Best,

Firat

Experiencing this also. Did you ever find a solution?

Hey @mfhaciahmetoglu - and @ibartels

In order to do this, you need to add an attribute to the Incident table.

Steps to do so:

  • In your filter navigator type System Definition
  • Find and click on Dictionary
  • In the list view, filter on table =incident
  • Open the record where the Type is Collection

  • From the Attributes tab, click New

  • And we need to add Use Document Viewer as an attribute, and make the value = True (like so)

And now from the EC portal, looking at an Incident, from the Activity tab, you can click on an image and it will just pop up in a view tab (Attachments tab will still prompt you to download):

Give this a try - hopefully it works for you.
