Showing Employee Center Mega Menu similar to Taxonomy Hierarchical Structure

Hi,

I am creating a new menu item using the "Main menu" attached to my Employee Center Portal. However, I am looking to add child menu items under this new menu, and expecting to appear like the Parent Topic-> Child Topic hierarchical structure that we can see for a Taxonomy. For example, under "Manager Hub" mega menu item, OOB we got "Overview", "Your Team" and "Manager Library" menu items, but trying to find if there is a way to add sub-menu items under these menu items. Actually, I can still add child menu items (by manually changing the parent menu item on menu item record) however, they are not being displayed on the employee center portal.

Please note: I need the external links to be setup for each of these parent and child menu items, so can't use the taxonomy topic contents of type "Quick Link" as they would all appear only on the far right of the topic page, both within mega menu, and on the page under "Quick Links".

To help you better understand my question, please refer the screenshot above - I am looking to have sub menu items to be displayed under each of the menu items, so expecting it look like - (similar to Taxonomy structure )

Hi @sagar_anandpara ,

You can navigate to All> Content Taxonomy> Taxonomies> OOTB we have "Employee" taxonomy :

Now, you can open the Employee Taxonomy > under Child topics, you can select yours and start tweaking as per your requirement, for example here:

@sagar_anandpara What are those items in the dropdown? Are these all external links to other platforms/websites?

The structure you see where child topics come under the parent are when topics are used. So you would just setup your parent topics as you have in bold on the table, and then underneath have the child topics associated.

If these are all external links to other platforms, you could still just create child topics for them, and then render the links on the topic page in a variety of ways.

If you don't want to use topics, then unfortunately you won't get the benefit of the Taxonomy child structure, and they will just appear as Quick Links to the side of the menu dropdown as you mentioned.

Hopefully I have understood your issue, if not let me know

Hi Dan,

Thank you for your time and reply to my post.

What are those items in the dropdown? Are these all external links to other platforms/websites?

--> Yes, they are all external links to other systems.

The structure you see where child topics come under the parent are when topics are used. So you would just setup your parent topics as you have in bold on the table, and then underneath have the child topics associated.

--> if we set them like parent topic for column headers and child topics for other child contents in them, it would mean if click on any of the parent or child topics while navigating from the mega menu, will land you onto that particular topic page (but there is nothing to be displayed on the topic page) but instead I want these clicks itself to redirect me to that third party system links directly.

If these are all external links to other platforms, you could still just create child topics for them, and then render the links on the topic page in a variety of ways.

--> I think doing this would add extra click as first we load the topic page, and then the quick link to the external system (which is exactly I want to be able to do - to directly redirect to third party sytem URL from the mega menu selection).

Hope that helps understanding my requiremen/issue better.

Regards,

Sagar
