Hello,

How can I have the child topic Software appear as a card in the Popular Topics widget? It will only appear in the Mega Menu and not in the Popular Topics.

Hello @zynsn  ,

"popular" topics as topics that contain connected content (catalog or knowledge) that have higher popularity. For a catalog item, popularity is the number of times it was requested and for a knowledge article, it is the number of times it was viewed. The popularity of a topic is the aggregation of the popularity of all the content under a topic.

Popularity is calculated based on a daily scheduled job that looks at the entire history, since the day Employee Center was turned on the instance and across all users in the instance.

So if you want any topics which are visible inside popular topics then add connected content (catalog or knowledge) that are popular.

In ur case u need to add popular connected content on "Software" child topic. So that it will visible to you in popular topics. After adding connected content logout and login back to instance. (Note: sometime it will take few hours to reflect)

@zynsn , Please mark my answer as accepted solution and helpful. If it is works for u.

Thank you.

Hi @zynsn ,

Popular topics doesn't work as what you are expecting, it won't populate "Software" right away.

The Popular topics widget lets you quickly view and access the most viewed topics. Employee Center uses an algorithm to determine which topics must appear on the widget. You can configure the instance options to control the appearance of the widget, such as the title, number of topics, display size, and border color.

You cannot customize the internal algorithm to work as per your requirement.

Hi @Community Alums / @Community Alums,

Good to know about the algorithm, it took a few hours and it has finally appeared in the Popular Topics widget.

Thanks!
