Install Type = On Premise

In the ServiceNow documentation for the Business Application Form (link) on the row corresponding to the Install Type field, it shows these options:

  • On Premise
  • Cloud
  • Hybrid
  • Third Party Hosted

I verified that these are the options OOB in my PDI.

Why "On Premise"? Not to be nit picking but the proper reference would be "On-Premises".

Is there any danger if we changed this in our instance? Problems with upgrades?  EA workspace? I can live with it as-is but I do get questions about this so wanted to be prepared to answer them.

Hi @MEBoatman

You can modify the display name of the choice as needed. This change won't affect the workflows since only the backend values are referenced.
During upgrades, you may encounter skipped log records. In such cases, you will need to decide whether to proceed with the out-of-the-box (OOB) version or the custom version.
Apart from this, there won't be any major impact from changing the label/display name of the dropdown value.

Hope this helps.

Siva

no OOTB scripts or flows are tied to the Label.  None I know of are even tied to the value.  So, you can correct the label but also, it's a good point that the OOTB should be corrected and perhasp that is somthing that be addressed in a later family release now that Doron has seen this.

thanks for calling this out.
