Difference between Reg Alert and Source Document Alert

In the ServiceNow Regulatory Change Management, What is the difference between the Regulatory Alert and Source Document Alert?

Are they related? And should one workflow be performed before another?

The regulatory alerts are of two types:

• Regulatory event alert
• Source document alert

When you click the title of a regulatory event alert or a source document alert in the List view, it displays the details of the alert in a new page.

The regulatory event alerts page displays the following tabs and related lists by default:

• Overview tab
• Details tab
• Related documents list
• Impact assessments list

The source document alerts page displays the following tabs by default:

• Overview tab
• Details tab

Now, the major difference you can see is in the stepper component under overview Tab , the number of stages would be different:

Stepper component for the regulatory event alert that displays the following stages:

• New: When a regulatory event alert is marked as applicable, the state of the alert is updated automatically to In progress in the Stepper component and a regulatory change task is automatically created.
• Impact Assessment: When an impact assessment is initiated on the regulatory event alert, the stage in the stepper component is updated automatically to Impact Assessment.
• In progress: When the state of the regulatory event alert is updated toIn progress, the highlighted stage in the stepper component is displayed as In progress.
• Closed: When the Regulatory event alert is in Closed state, the highlighted stage in the stepper component is displayed as Closed.

Process flow stepper component for the source document alert that displays the following stages:

• New: When the source document type alert is in the New state, the highlighted stage in the stepper component is displayed as New.
• In progress: When the state of the source document type alert is updated to In progress, the highlighted stage in the stepper component is displayed as In progress.
• Closed: When the source document type alert is in Closed state, the highlighted stage in the stepper component is displayed as Closed.

Thanks for the reply. But it is still not clear what the difference is between Reg Alert and Source Document Import.

What are the different use cases behind the Regulatory Event and Source Document workflow? Do they work together, or are they solving distinct use cases?
