GRC Plugins Installation Issue

Hi ServiceNow Community,

I have been encountering a peculiar issue for the past week while trying to install GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) related plugins in ServiceNow. The main plugins required for GRC functionalities are not appearing in the list of available plugins. Interestingly, the dependency plugins for GRC are visible and can be accessed without any issues.

This situation has left me puzzled and unable to proceed with the necessary installations for GRC. I am wondering if this is a known issue, possibly related to the Xanadu release, or if there might be another underlying cause that I'm not aware of.

Has anyone else faced a similar problem, or does anyone have insights into what might be causing this issue? Any guidance or suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help and support.

@Simon Hendery ,

I appreciate your response. The reason I mentioned "usually" is not because I have to do this every time I upgrade, but because I encountered an issue where my installed plugins in Xanadu disappeared. I tried to understand the issue but found no clue, so I moved back to the Washington version and reinstalled all the plugins, and now I am making use of them. The reason for raising this question in the community is that I was not able to see the plugins I required on the list. However, my issue has now been resolved, and I thank you for that.

Hi Simon,

I appreciate your response. However, I'm encountering an issue: I am unable to install the plugins related to GRC, specifically:

  • Policy & Compliance Management
  • Risk Management
  • Audit Management

Interestingly, I am able to obtain the dependencies for:

  • Policy & Compliance Management
  • Risk Management
  • Audit Management

Could you assist me with this installation challenge?

Thanks in Advance,
Manaswini

Hi @SaiManaswiA

Just trying to understand exactly what the issue is ...

Let's take P&CM. If you go to the Application Manager and search 'policy' are you not seeing the sn_compliance app, as shown in the attached screenshot?

And when you say you can obtain the dependencies, can you explain what you mean? Which dependencies, and how are you obtaining them?

Hi Simon,

Okay, let me simplify this. Generally, when we use the GRC platform, we need to install specific plugins. For example, I usually need to install the Policy and Compliance Management plugin. Typically, when you choose this plugin, you also see the Policy and Compliance Management Dependencies plugin in the list of available plugins. When you install the main plugin, the dependency plugin is automatically installed as well. This is the standard behavior.

However, in the Xanadu version, when searching for Policy & Compliance, only the dependency plugin appears in the search results, not the main plugin. To resolve this, I reverted from Xanadu to the Washington version, which allowed me to install both the main plugin and its dependency.

Thanks,
Manaswini

@SaiManaswiA So you now have all the required plugins but you're on Washington and you want to be on Xanadu?

So if you upgrade to Xanadu now, won't that give you what you want? You're not going to lose the plugins by upgrading.

What do you mean by "I usually need to install the Policy and Compliance Management plugin"? Do you mean every time you upgrade? Because that shouldn't be the case.

Or do you work for a partner and you're implementing GRC on customer instances?
