Is there any license used if we assign sn_grc.business_user role to any user in User table?

I have 2 questions, both are related to Advanced Audit application.

1. We have 18K Suppliers who are part of User Table and need to work on Issues and provide evidence during Audit Execution. We are planning to give sn_grc.business_user role to all the Suppliers. Do we need to purchase any type of IRM license for this?

2. What is the difference between IRM Lite Operator and IRL Operator license? What all functionalities\modules are accessible with IRM Lite Operator license. Is there a list that can be shared?

Hi @UTKARSH JAIN ,

Thanks for the clarity , much appreciated 😀

However, When i say "When we talk about the licensing part of "sn_grc.business_user" role , they may or may not have direct link to consuming the licenses, as it completely depends on the what you want them to perform. If you just add the role to a user , it doesn't consume any licenses. However, when the user performes any of the jobs mentioned above then it does consume license. "  this i learned from the CIS-RC implementation GRC on-Demand course by @Jan Spurlin  . You might need to make modification to the video as well.

I would expect the licensing count to work like @UTKARSH JAIN is explaining. An active user with a particular role assigned is using a license, whether that person has performed an activity or not!

This is how it works in all other ServiceNow modules as well.

I don't expect ServiceNow to make an exception here.

@Jan Boere  that's what even my understanding was about the license calculation with any other modules , but going over the course i got to know what i mentioned.

The recorded implementation course in Now Learning is based on the Quebec family release. How the GRC Business User role was used at that time is correctly described in the course.  There were changes made in August 2022 relative to Tokyo that are not included in the course.

In our courses we do not usually address licensing. We refer students to talk to their account manager.
