Thank you

This depends on the scenario.

During the client demo to win a project, you can showcase the fully fledged risk (with advanced risk Management).

When you are doing the requirement gathering, you need to identify the usage of risk management. If they are going to use IRM for multiple departments, different risk assessment methodologies, use both top to bottom approach and bottom up approach, identification mechanisms and etc, then you can provide the solution with Advanced Risk.

If they are going to use one single standard risk assessment for all kind of risks, in that case basic risk management is sufficient.

As i said, its depends on the scenario. You have to perform a requirement analysis on what are the use cases required for the client.

Advanced Risk Assessment:

  • Does it all digitally: From spotting risks to keeping an eye on them, it's all online.
  • Tailored to fit you: You get to tweak it to match your company's style and needs.
  • Handles both types of risk thinking: Whether you like numbers or just words, it's got you covered.
  • Saves you time: Scores add up automatically, so no more number crunching.
  • Part of your daily grind: It's built right into your workspace, making decisions easier.
  • Looks at all angles: Checks out the original risks, how good your safety nets are, and what's left over.
  • Sets future goals: Helps you aim for the kind of risks you want down the road.

Classic Risk Assessment:

  • Keeps it simple: You've got one tool to design and tweak your risk surveys.
  • Question bank for the win: No need to start from scratch; grab questions from the library.
  • You're in charge of the scores: No automatic adding here; you punch in the numbers.
  • Two spots to check: "My Assessments" for your personal tasks, "All Assessments" for the big picture.
  • Not as flexible: Can't customize it as much as the fancy version.
  • More about gut feeling: Less about numbers, more about how you feel about the risks.

In short, Advanced Risk Assessment is the high-tech, customisable option, while Classic Risk Assessment keeps it simple and relies more on your instincts.

Hi did you ever find what you were looking for in regards to Risk Management vs. Advanced Risk Management features and capabilities? I'm looking for the same, as one of our clients has the IRM Professional license which comes with "Limited" Advanced Risk Management and it's not very clear to me, what that means? Which parts of Advanced Risk will they be able to utilize, and which won't work for them. I can't find a clear separation anywhere in the ServiceNow documentation.
