Enable Serial Number & Asset Tag Scanning in Agent Now Mobile – Stockroom Audit

We have a client requirement related to the Agent Now Mobile App for Stockroom Audit.

 

When a Stockroom Audit task is created, users should be able to scan a barcode and retrieve the corresponding asset record using either the Asset Tag or the Serial Number.

 

Currently, out-of-the-box (OOTB) functionality allows scanning based only on the Asset Tag. If a user scans a Serial Number, the system treats it as a new Asset Tag and creates a new asset record. This is resulting in duplicate/junk asset records and requires significant manual cleanup effort.

 

What our client need is to scan either Asset Tag or Serial number and result should populate the same Asset and it should not create a duplicate record. 

 

We have tried with adding a new function as Serial Number but the issue what is happening there is if user scans Asset Tag on Serial Number then it is creating new record with Asset Tag value as Serial Number. 

 

Any guidance would be appreciated.
