HAM and CMDB fields

Hello all,

I have a requirement to research HAM integration with CMDB fields.

Part of my requirement is:

Team would like to know which fields HAM are available to edit by the Desktop Support Team

- Which are controlled by FACTS

- Which will update FACTS

What roles are required to update the fields?

I'm not certain what is meant by "FACTS", and have not heard back from my team yet.

My process so far has been to research the tables installed with HAM, and the roles needed to view and/or update those fields.

I'm having some roadblocks since HAM can not be installed on a PDI, and I do not have access the customer instance as of yet.

Am I heading the right direction?  Any suggestions....

Thank you all so much!

FACTS should be an internal terminology and it is better to get it clarified from the team which provided the requirement.

If you have access to learning portal, you can either enroll for the HAM fundamentals course in which ,you can request a lab instance or enroll for the HAM simulator course. This will help you to practise and research HAM on the instance. The URLs for these are given below:

Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Fundamentals On Demand (Washington)

Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Simulator (Xanadu)

You can also download the various HAM related artifacts from Now Create and read through those to improve your understanding of HAM (especially the 'HAM process guide').

Without the knowledge of what FACTS means it is hard to answer your question or direct you to some data or even training for HAM.
