HAM - Charge Cost Centers for Hardware Assets

Hi All,

Is there an out-of-the-box (OOB) capability to automatically charge a hardware asset request to the requesting user's cost center?

I noticed there is an OOB Expense Line feature. can anyone explain its purpose and what benefits it provides? Specifically, can it be used to allocate hardware asset costs to a user's cost center?

Out of the box, ServiceNow does not automatically perform financial chargebacks or deduct the cost of an asset from a user's cost center
