Hi all,
This is my first time posting and also my first time encountering what seems to be a real show stopper.
We are in the process of rolling out Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and have run into an issue: the Source Request does not seem to consider substitutes that we have configured. As a result, following the standard process, we would have to procure a new computer every time, even when suitable models are available in stock.
We’ve been advised to list all the different models in the catalog, but this doesn’t seem practical. End-users wouldn’t know what is in stock or what to pick, and they shouldn’t have to worry about this.
Has anyone faced a similar issue? What needs to be configured to make the substitute functionality work as intended? I’m sure many companies have multiple models in rotation and in stock, waiting to be redeployed.
Any suggestions or configuration tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Andre
