We are reimplementing and previously customized Asset information such as the Cost Center, Owner, etc. into the Configuration Item table instead of utilizing the Asset table. However, we aren't fully implementing Asset. Right now it will only be base Hardware. How do I track the Cost Center, Owner, etc on Virtual Instances since they aren't "Hardware Assets"? Do you create a hardware asset record for them anyway? What is best practice and what is out of the box? Thanks!
