What is the Job Profile [sn_hr_core_job_profile] table for?

I'm trying to understand what the Job Profile [sn_hr_core_job_profile] is used for within HRSD?

The only real reference to it is via the HR integration staging table, I can see how Job Profile mirrors data in Job Profiles on Workday for example. However it is not even referenced on the Job [sn_hr_core_job] table (although Position is which is very similar).

If someone could shed some light on how Job Profile is functionally used I would greatly appreciate it!

Many thanks

Nope !! Job record is very different from Jonb Profile.

The Jobs table is intended to track an employee's job history for use within the HR product. One use case for this would be to evaluate past job against new job for determining required activities during employee transfers. Another example would be for supporting employees that have split jobs/multiple job roles and filing cases against the correct job.

Generally People don't make use of Job Profile and go with Position Table.

Mark my answer correct & Helpful, if Applicable.

Thanks,

Sandeep

@Community Alums for Transfers or Onboarding, would the activity sets be driven off the jobs table instead of HR Profile

Perhaps, I can add some clarity. The sn_hr_core_job_profile table in ServiceNow is part of the Human Resources (HR) Core application, specifically designed for managing job profiles within an organization. Job profiles are a key component of HR management and are used to define the requirements, responsibilities, skills, and other attributes associated with a specific job or role within the organization.

Here's a brief overview of the purpose and functionality of the sn_hr_core_job_profile table:

Defining Job Profiles: This table allows HR professionals and administrators to define and create job profiles for various positions within the organization. Each job profile represents a specific role or job title, such as "Software Engineer," "HR Manager," or "Sales Associate."

Recording Job Details: Users can enter detailed information about each job profile, including the job title, department, reporting structure, job type (full-time, part-time, contract, etc.), and other job-specific attributes.

Skills and Competencies: Job profiles often include a list of required skills, competencies, certifications, and qualifications necessary for the role. Users can associate these with the job profile to ensure that candidates or employees meet the necessary criteria.

Responsibilities and Duties: The table allows for the documentation of the responsibilities, duties, and tasks associated with a particular job profile. This information can help in setting expectations for employees and candidates.

Salary and Compensation Information: Users can capture salary ranges, pay grades, and other compensation-related details for each job profile. This information is valuable for HR and compensation management.

Integration with HR Processes: Job profiles are often linked to other HR processes such as recruitment, performance management, and employee development. They help in aligning HR activities with the specific requirements of each role.

Analytics and Reporting: The data stored in the sn_hr_core_job_profile table can be used for HR analytics and reporting. Organizations can analyze job profiles to identify trends, make informed decisions about staffing, and plan for future workforce needs.

Compliance and Auditing: Job profiles can be used to ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and industry standards. By documenting job requirements and responsibilities, organizations can demonstrate that they are following fair employment practices.

Employee Self-Service: In some instances, employees may have access to view and update certain information related to their job profiles, such as skills and qualifications.

Overall, the sn_hr_core_job_profile table serves as a central repository for managing and documenting important details about job roles within an organization. It plays a crucial role in HR management processes and contributes to efficient workforce planning and talent management.

James

@Francis Twyman

Are you asking about the job profile table or the jobs table/

What Sandeep copied here from Kiel Sanders is for the jobs table: not the job profile.

We use it to store position start date and end date: and for future dated events because there is no place to store it on HR profile
