Allow Assignment group members only to edit the Workplace Cases

Hi everyone,

We have a requirement to allow only members of the assignment group to edit the cases. If he/she is not a member of the assignment group, they should not be able to edit it. I have written a before update business rule to achieve this. It's working fine. However, there is a UI action in the related links called "Escalate Case". This escalates the case to a new group. 

Now, Even when the member of the assignment group is Clicking on "Escalate Case". The Business rule is not allowing them because this user will not be part of the new assignment group it will escalate to. 

Can someone please help me with this ? Thankyou !!

P.S: I have tried ACL modification, but OOB ACL's im not allowed to touch. Hence, trying with Business Rules only.
