Is ServiceNow Fundamentals course sufficient to prepare for ServiceNow CSA exam ?

I am preparing for CSA exam and about to finish ServiceNow Fundamentals course on Now Platform. Are there any other sources from I can prepare for CSA ?

Hi there,

In theory, everything within the CSA exam is covered in the ServiceNow Fundamentals course. So yes.

In reality, is this enough? No. Make hours. On a PDI, on customer instances, etc.. Also have a look at the blueprint:

Hi Mark, I took the CSA Admin test today. I have to be fairly honest about my experience first let me start with some background: 1. I have been an active user and part of the BSA side of the house for more than 4 years. 2. I attended the Instructor lead as well as attempted the On Demand courses (ran into technical issues due to ServiceNow case was opened). 3. Studied for the last several weeks taking every pre-test imaginable and passing those with an 80% or higher. Pre-test questions like those you capture in this attachment. CSA TEST EXPERIENCE: 1. Only 4 or 5 questions pertained to what was taught in the ServiceNow Fundamentals courses. 2. Test is heavy in CMDB, Transform mapping, BSM, and tricky questions related to Importing & Exporting. My question is why does the Fundamentals course state it will *prepare* you as well as having at least 6 months of hand experience, when really that is not an accurate statement? I truly felt as though I was alone until I started searching for reviews and other community comments in the past year time. My teammates took the exam 3 years ago and said it was nothing like what I have experienced today. Has something changed that you are aware of?

Hi Jennifer,

Sorry to hear you failed the exam. Obviously results will vary per person as we truly don't know your exposure to ServiceNow or really anyone else. You can say 4 years, but what does that really tell us? Outside of that, what is the control variable in all of this is? ServiceNow. They are saying ServiceNow Fundamentals, mixed with the ServiceNow CSA Blueprint document (which breaks down the categories of questions you'll be asked) and hands-on use of the platform, mixed with other suggested courses that ServiceNow has stated within the ServiceNow Fundamentals syllabus...those are what will help you succeed.

You mentioned that you took several practice tests. Where did you get those practice tests?

Here are a few examples of where I studied. I also created 200 or so flash cards. I have the Fundamentals book in hand as well. I have been on both sides of the house for BSA and Dev work for the last 4 years. I have taken the course 2 times like stated above and again I was extremely surprised by the questions presented to me in that exam. I have still not heard back from ServiceNow on the Case I opened regarding the On Demand Fundamentals training course, but even if it was available, I do not feel like that course prepares anyone for the questions that were asked during the exam. It was heavy development. I wrote the post above because if someone else is inquiring about the test, they should be fully prepared with years of experience and like you stated, multiple training courses besides Fundamentals.
