Building a service-aware CMDB can have a force multiplier impact on Technology workflows, where the service context can help customers to elevate the adoption of ITSM/ITOM/SecOps/GRC/APM workflows. Service-aware / Application context-aware data in the ServiceNow platform drives AI-Powered Service Operations with ITSM/CSM/AIOps outcomes. The service mapping narrative has evolved and ITOM Visibility - service mapping technology enables customers to map their technology infrastructure to application services. Top-down mapping allows customers to identify infrastructure relationships with URL entry points. Tag-based mapping simplified the mapping journey for cloud and containers.
In the Quebec family release, ML-powered service mapping was first introduced to accelerate service context creation. This capability was further enhanced in the Rome family release, where customers can create global/local policies to auto-accept the suggested connections for map creation. ML analyzes the discovered machine data and creates process clusters & leverages traffic fingerprinting to create connection suggestions for service map creation. ML-powered mapping can co-exist with Top-down mapping. Customers should still add entry points for the Top-down or ML-powered approach.
ITOM product team is proud to announce “Automated Service Suggestions” with November 2022 store release. This feature will auto-detect the potential connection suggestions and recommend service suggestions based on the advanced ML clustering methodology. Service mapping analysts can preview the service recommendations and create a service map with a single-click experience. Behind the scenes, entry points are automatically calculated and added to the selected service maps.
Get started with Automated Service Suggestions
Step 1: Search and Install the Service Mapping Plus store application.
Step 2: Launch Service Mapping Workspace
