We’re excited to announce that ServiceNow® ITOM Discovery now supports Data Collection for Oracle® Global Licensing and Advisory Services (GLAS).
As an Oracle Verified Third-Party Tool Vendor, ServiceNow Discovery accurately captures installation and usage data related to Oracle Database and associated options. ServiceNow customers can automate the data collection with agentless discovery.
The ServiceNow Discovery solution can discover Oracle databases deployed in Cloud (AWS® / Azure® / Google Cloud Platform® and IBM Cloud®) and wide variety of Virtualization technologies (Hyper-V®, IBM Virtualization®, RedHat Virtualization®, Nutanix Acropolis®, VMWare vCenter® and OpenStack Virtualization®).
Oracle License Management Services (LMS) will accept data from ServiceNow as an alternative to installing Oracle LMS measurement tools.
Please note that the installation and usage of a tool from an Oracle verified vendor does not replace an Oracle License Audit or revoke Oracle's contractual right to perform one. In addition, the usage data gathered by ServiceNow Discovery will still need to be analyzed by Oracle to assess license needs and provide the customer with a compliance statement.
In addition to LMS Workflows, this integration provides underlying data used to power IT Workflows, Security Operations Workflows and IT Asset Management Workflows.
For example, ServiceNow SAM Pro uses the discovered data to provide reconciliation and compliance reporting.
Via the SAM Pro Publisher Pack for Oracle, users can track licensing positions for Oracle databases, database options, and management packs. This is inclusive of the Per Processor and Named User Plus license metrics for Oracle Database.
