I have a query in CMDB , we have a table cmdb_model , in that table duplicate models are getting created . I have checked the created by , data is getting created by several mid server users , and the discovery sources , out of that I have checked for one model "Microsoft visual studio community "
for this 36 duplicate records are present , this data is coming from a single source
does anyone has any idea based on what actions this duplicates get created on this table ? like if we publish any model or update any model on software model table does this creates a record in the cmdb_model table ?

Check whether Discovery and SCCM both are discovering Microsoft visual studio community . You mentioned single source, what discovery resource it is showing.
If software models lack proper mapping during discovery, a new model could get generated.
If you have any normalization set up on the model, validate the mapping.

Hi @kiran kumar m1 ,
The duplicates in the model table are usually caused by inconsistencies in the incoming payload. For example, if one payload includes both the model name and manufacturer, while another includes only the model name, it can lead to duplicate records being created.
However, you mentioned that all 36 records are coming from a single source, which is unusual to create duplicates. Could you please share a snapshot of the data? That would help in providing a more accurate analysis.
Thanks,
Vishnu
