Good morning,
I'm working on mapping our Business Services, IT Applications, Service Offerings, etc. but then I came across the Software and Applications module. Does anyone know exactly how this table is supposed to be used or what its supposed to be used for, in regards to Business Services, IT Applications, Service Offerings, etc.? I looked around the community and the docs site but couldn't really find anything. I attached a screenshot for reference.
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
cnharris

Upon further research, I found out that the Software and Applications module is actually a custom application that was built out before I began working at my current organization. It looks like everything in that custom table should be listed under Business Services.
Thanks to everyone who viewed and responded to my question!

Hi,
If you are mapping the Applications as per CSDM then you should be using the CI's in class 'cmdb_ci_appl' which is the correct class for mapping application CI's. The software CI's should be mapped with any Service class, that is specifically used for SAM module.
Regards,
Vivek

cmdb_ci_appl is not the correct place for applications. That is the parent table for things like applications servers. So applications would be mixed in with servers.
