Adding multiple affected CIs to a Change Record

When we try to add multiple affected CI's from different pages to the change record it only populates the CIs selected from the last page.   Could not find if this is a known issue.

Hi,

That does not sound like a defect as its supposed to hold a single value.

Every time you try to add another CI, it just gets overwritten.

Solution: if you want multiple CI affected to be added, either use the related list below to add it or use a list type field referenced to cmdb_ci table and keep adding value to it.

I select the ADD button and get the list of CIs ... and select 3 from the first screen

then I page forward and select 2 more ...

and select add selected and pick 2 more and only the 2 from the last screen are added ...

I realize you can filter and/or set your display limit   but we have a CI class of 600 + INIs which are 3 characters and it is difficult to filter. If you can only select from 1 page why does it let you page forward.   This also happens when you search for different CIs to select.   It only saves those selected from the last page

Hi Sally,

This is a great question!

That is the expected behavior for List V3. If you go back to List V2, you can use the slush bucket UI to add as many items as you want in one go.

It really seems like this would be a useful thing to be able to do. However, I do not see any way to accomplish what you desire. I know this was not the answer you were hoping for. I recommend following the procedure outlined in ServiceNow KB: Requesting ServiceNow product enhancements (KB0547257) . In the meantime, if I have answered your question, please mark my response as correct so that others with the same question in the future can find it quickly and that it gets removed from the Unanswered list.

I submitted an issue for this as the functionality "appears" to allow you to add multiple CI from each page but then when you go back to the main change request screen they are not there.   This also happens when you search independent CIs and select, then search another and select etc.   I didn't find any SN documentation that addresses this anomaly so we did not communicate anything to our customers.
