Difference between "parent" field in core_company and company_account

What is the difference between the "parent" field in core_company vs. company_account for the same company?

Each table has its own Parent / Child relationship. This is because both tables handle how the companies are structured differently. Core Companies are typically used to define manufacturers for assets, whereby Customer Accounts are typically used in Customer Service Management to define what vendors perform customer service. Even though there may be two different parents, the 'meaning' of that parent is different depending on how the data is used.
