Is an ITIL license require for a knowledge base admin?

My company currently has 50 licenses.   Of those 50, only 3 are unassigned. In order to 'conserve' some licenses (for at least 2 upcoming hires), we want to remove the itil role from our Knowledge Base Admins. Will removing the itil role effect the ability to administer the KBs at all?

I don't think it will, but the safest way to make sure is to make that change in sub-production and see if they are hindered taking that away.   I wouldn't think it should require it as it's not a fulfiller.   You may need to check with your rep as it seems contracts differ in what's considered a license that counts against your allotment.

We have done this on our development instance also and they appear to be working fine. We will continue to have them test it out though.   Thanks!
