Notifications for knowledge are not working for new article templates

We have noticed that the notifications that are built for knowledge articles are only triggering for the articles created using standard template. If we are using a new custom article template then the same existing notifications are not working and we then have to re-build those notifications on the new article template table which is quite time consuming and a bit unnecessary. If you came across similar issue and did something that worked for you or have any leads then please do share it.
