ServiceNow for Amazon GovCloud

We have tried to connect to our AWS GovCloud assets to do Discovery / Orchestration / Catalog Management etc. So far we cannot. We can connect and discover just fine using our cemmercial (partner) SN instnces inclduing personal DEV ones. Is there a specific ServiceNow "GovCloud" appliance or instances that can be deployed? Can a commercial SN instance connect to a AWS GovCloud target? Please let us know any USE CASE or reference. It would be much appreciated.

Resp.,

Angel

We have not. See below for our Incident Comment. We would be very interested in understanding your USE CASE for this since we are trying to do the same with another government account. Btw; for all, we using JAKARTA - newly released. Although we did try this on a prior release with same results.

We just got this from SNOW regarding our GovCloud issue ((INT3371255):

"I have reached out to our Development team to discuss your AWS GovCloud connection issue.   They have responded back and have informed me that AWS GovCloud is not supported by ServiceNow and that there are no plans at this point to support it in the future.   I apologize for the bad news.   If this functionality is important to you and your organization I would encourage you to submit an Enhancement Request via HI.   These requests are routinely reviewed and considered for future development in our platform.   The following article will walk you through the process of an Enhancement request submittal...

My response: "Wow. I am afraid to ask; could you ask if SNOW supports ANY government, federal cloud space, like MS Azure Government Cloud? I am surprised at this feedback. I am not sure what I am to say to the US Army CIO that is getting ready to buy ServiceNow."

Final post for now on this:

I got a call from one of the ServiceNow support managers asking if i had any questions. I said no about GovCloud since it seemed like they just would not support it. Right after the call i got another message stating:

Hello Angel,

I just confirmed planned support for Azure Gov in Kingston.

So; it seems they now plan on supporting MS Azure Goverenment cloud. Our expereince so far evaluating Jakarta CMv2 has been mixed. There are seveal features such as the ability to map Os templates that are overly complex. We are still evaluating. The inability to map to a government cloud is disappointing.

Thats all for now - for any partner wanting to share experiences on this; please contact me at: adavila@sovsystems.com
