Hi All!
I had some specific questions regarding the Now Mobile – Intune set up. Would you be able to shed some light into the below questions please?
- Mobile App deployment: We see that we can add the “Now Mobile- Intune” to Intune for users to download. Can you provide information on how we can disable users from using the other Now Mobile app?
- Instance’s address: Can you please advise how we can make the set up experience better for users? For example, how can we make it so that users will not have to enter the SN instance’s address on their initial login?
- Face or Thumb ID/PIN Number set up: how can we require users to enter a PIN when the application has been inactive for five minutes. Is there something we can set up from intune for this? We see that to require the mobile user to set and enter a local application PIN, add the system property glide.sg.require_mobile_application_pin. Is this the only required setting?
- From product doc: Users generate a six-digit code for the app PIN. The PIN must be entered when they log in to an instance from their mobile device, or after the application has been inactive for more than five minutes. If your users have faceID, touchID, or similar biometric security configured on their phone, they can use biometric authentication in place of the PIN.
Thank you as always!
Eddie

Hello Eddie,
1. You can restrict the non-intune mobile app access, pls follow the below link,
https://docs.servicenow.com/en-US/bundle/sandiego-mobile/page/administer/tablet-mobile-ui/task/config-basic-allow-mobile-app-list.html
This will above link's example shows how to access only from now mobile intune version and other non intune application will be restricted.
2. not much sure on how better to make this user experience. If you are using intune, this is going to be a onetime, the user need to configure this information. You can create QR to scan to login for first time. Also, check the below link, it may give you how to make this QR more effectively,
https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/sandiego-mobile/page/administer/tablet-mobile-ui/task/create-qr-login.html
3. glide.sg.require_mobile_application_pin property is alone fine. Also, If you enable faceid (say in iphone) is enabled, then Faceid will used instead of PIN ( if you enabled). if you disable FaceId, then it will ask for 6 digit pin you set in app.

Paul

A very late reply, but you configure the URL using the following property which (for Intune) is set with an App COnfiguration Policy.
SNDefaultInstanceURL
eg
SNDefaultInstanceURL with value https://yourinstance.service-now.com/
