We have ITSM Pro + and currently use the legacy Service Portal however we plan on migrating to Employee Center soon. We are looking into integrating Microsoft teams and from my research it seems EC is best suited for this type of integration. I know that the legacy Service Portal can be integrated, but with limitations. I need to communicate to our leadership team that its best we first migrate to EC after which we can then integrate with MS Teams therefore I ask the following:
Questions:
Can MS teams integrate with the legacy SP or should we first migrate to EC?
What are the biggest wins we can benefit from with a EC/MS Teams integration?

My thoughts
-> migrate to EC first to get all the features and then use MS Teams
-> MS teams can integrate with EC

@GChanner I recommend migrating to EC first, legacy SP may not be compatible with MS Teams integration.
Regarding the biggest wins, please refer to this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6P7oIqRds0Y it perfectly covers this topic.
Hope this helps.

Hi @GChanner
We recently faced the same issue with our client, and here’s what we did:
-
Moved the client from SP to ESC, as ESC comes with taxonomy and many additional features.
-
Built the basic integration with MS Teams, starting with Teams conversation and then moving to Teams Graph API.
-
Both are two separate plugins that help the client use the system effectively.
