Hi everyone,
I’m planning to take the ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) exam soon, and I’m trying to figure out the most effective way to prepare.
What topics should I focus on the most?
Is hands-on practice using a developer instance enough to grasp things like Incident, Change, and Problem Management?
How helpful did you find the ServiceNow Learning Paths and community discussions?
Did mock tests help you identify weak areas before the actual exam?
I came across a helpful step-by-step guide to the CSA exam that breaks things down really well — has anyone else followed a similar strategy?
Would love to hear how others approached the exam and what really made a difference in your success. Any tips are welcome!
Thanks in advance! 🙏

For CSA or any mainline exam, online training or the eBook should be your primary source of truth. If you're preparing for the CSA:
-
Review one chapter daily along with labs. Even if a chapter is long or short, aim for 1 chapter per day.
-
Revise the eBook 2-3 times before the final exam.
-
Read carefully, line by line and word by word. Labs are just as important as the theory.
-
Don’t rely on dumps—ensure you follow the structured material, and you’ll be well-prepared for the exam.
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.

Hi,
Thanks for the solid advice! You're absolutely right—sticking to the official eBook and doing labs consistently makes a huge difference. I’ll follow your tip of one chapter a day and multiple revisions. Also, I’ve found that taking practice exams really helps assess my readiness and reinforces weak areas. And yes, avoiding dumps is key—real understanding matters most. Appreciate the guidance!
