Hi @MontholJ
If you want to use Service Now: CSM, ITSM, and not the ITOM product, then there is no need to install a MID SERVER.
Please appreciate the efforts of community contributors by marking the appropriate response as the correct answer and helpful. This may help other community users to follow the correct solution in the future.

Hi @MontholJ
Mid Server is a Java application that runs as a Windows service or UNIX daemon on a server in your local network. The ServiceNow® MID Server enables communication and the movement of data between a ServiceNow instance and external applications, data sources, and services.
So If you use ITOM then it will required else in ITSM and CSM we don't required
if my answer helps you mark helpful and accept solution

Hi @MontholJ
The purpose of the MID Server is a bridge between SN and the client environment, It does not depend on any product. I saw the case where for AD integration as well, the client used the MID Server. So you need to check with the client and get a clear use case.

Hi @MontholJ ,
First you need to understand the need of MID server. Mid server is java based application server which used to communicate between ServiceNow and any third-party system, its act like middle-ware.
So if want to send and receive data from and to ServiceNow then you can use Mid server to transmit and receive the data securely.
In CSM and ITSM you are not pulling and pushing data from servicenow then it wont required.
