In Virtual agent now assist window i am getting Thinking... and it won't proceed ahead.

Can someone please assist.

Hi @Himanshu Raj

If it is appearing here, it means the topic is correct, but the basic configuration might be missing. Please check the topic again. You can also try testing it directly in VA Designer to see if it is working.

Few Inputs

  • Your utterance is likely being answered by Now Assist conversational search/disambiguation (so it doesn’t route into your LLM topic); improve the topic’s natural‑language description/instructions and add example prompts so “change office location” maps cleanly to that topic.
  • The “Thinking…” hang is a known behaviour for  Now Assist in Virtual Agent issue on certain releases/patches—apply the relevant platform patch/hotfix .
  • Validate Now Assist in Virtual Agent prerequisites/configuration are met (NAVA configured, LLM topic discoverability best practices followed) and re-test with realistic queries after updates. Try test the  with a working query in Designer and then Try same in VA Run time.

@Himanshu Raj

NAVA now uses agentic workflows since the end of last year, and the "AIA Unified Planner Quick" and "AIA Unified Planner" are now shared between NowAssist in VA and AI Agents. Typically this issue is caused by missing AI Agent capabilities or a communication problem with LLM provider, when it is stuck on "Thinking..."

1. Ensure the application "Now Assist AI Agents" is up to date, as there may be missing AI agents capabilities in the [sys_one_extend_capability] table that prevents it from progressing further.

2. Check the sys_alias and http_connection records for the LLM configured for NAVA, especially if using a BYOK (Bring your own key) for your LLM.

Hope this helps.
