Feature Cycle Time Actual Start and End Date

Hello!

Currently in ServiceNow, the "Actual Duration" on a feature cycle time is calculated by taking the difference between the moment a feature is moved to an "In Progress" state and the time it is marked as "Completed," essentially calculating the time spent actively working on the feature.

We updated our Features states and would like to Actual Start Date = Time Feature moves from Work In Progress,

Actual End Date= Time Feature Moves to Accepted and Actual Duration by taking the difference between the moment a feature is moved to an "WIP state and the time it is marked as "Accepted"

I understand this is a reporting forum, but having been through this many times - the Feature is more of a parent over Story or other records.

In this process, the Feature Starts when the first story associated goes to Work In Process and ends when the last associated Story goes to complete.

It reads like you would be able to Start and Stop the Features without regard to the supporting work items to be considered.

I successfully pushed back against this when the people requesting it understand that within our organization - the Feature is a bucket containing work items.  Not the work items themselves.

Good luck!
