Hello,
We are a Platform Partner in the Build segment developing and selling a Store Application called Data Content Manager. Our application includes many "Interactive Dashboards," and we are already developing new reports on the Workspace / Next Experience as well.
My problems or concerns are:
- When should we migrate all our dashboards to Next Experience?
- Or should we just incorporate them all into Workspace views
- What does this require from our customers (old and new)?
- Is there a deadline?
- What if we don't migrate, but a customer has migrated their dashboards?
I couldn't find any clear recommendations or guidance for partners developing their own Store applications. Maybe someone could point me in the right direction or link some existing materials here. Quick discussion with the Platform Analytics team might also be an option.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
--Mikko

Since PAE can already be used since Tokyo, I would migrate everything as soon as possible. The dashboard/report modules will be removed after a customer migrates themselves, so they will no longer have your dashboards/reports available, unless you provide those links explicitly.
On the Zurich release, all instances will be migrated, ready or not (and if Zurich is skipped, it will be with the Australia release).
The clients that have already migrated and were using your dashboards, will have migrated those to PAE already, so you have to inform them that they will have duplicates (their migration will have created dashboards with other ID's than yours will have).
If you don't migrate, upgrading will do it for you and you will run behind on the experience of your clients.

Thank you Mark,
Then, we better get to this. And if we migrate all our dashboards to Next Experience, will those work for customers who have not taken Next Experience into (full) use yet, and are running Washington DC for example?
Cheers,

Yes. Your dashboards will be available under 'Platform Analytics' and are accessible there. You will just be providing them the new experience before they move themselves. Since the experience is already available since Tokyo, it's not something they can't access.
