How do I add a trendline to a line graph report?

Hi all

I created a line graph report for the number of incidents received by the Service Desk over a 5 month period (see below).

I would like to add a trend line (a line that shows the mean number of incidents over that 5 month period). I would be very grateful for anyone's assistance.

Thank you.

Hi,

you should do that using the Multi Data Sets in reporting (available with the premium subscription). Please follow the documentation below:

Using multiple datasets in a report

Enjoy 🙂

If I have answered your question, please mark my response as correct so that others with the same question in the future can find it quickly and that it gets removed from the Unanswered list.

Thank you

Multiple data sets do not require Performance Analytics Premium.  However, if you want a real trend line, you would need to do that in PA I believe (at least I'm not sure how to do it in a report itself since time series group based on a specific date field).

Thank you Alberto and Adam

If I use the new UI, I can add a data set but I don't appear to be able to add conditions to that data like I can in the classic UI. All I want to do is add a horizontal line that runs along the x axis of the above graph that represents the mean of all the data points on the graph. Is this possible?

Thank you for your help.

You can definitely add conditions to the additional data sets in the new UI.  Can you include a screenshot of where you are having issues with that?
