Hi Experts,

I am in the process of building the dashboard. i would like to get a clear understanding before moving forward on Performance Analytics Dashboard. I have few questions , please help me to understand...

1. Does ServiceNow out of the Box gives PA as plugin(i meant do we need to activate?) or comes as an application in the servicenow ? current Version- jakarta.

2. Is PA paid plugin ?

3. I want to create dashboard for  Incident,Change,Problem and Request Management in PA so what is general reports prepared for this modules?

4. And last question, does PA gives the data in real time or does it provide the information till last day(yesterday)?

Hi,

1. Does ServiceNow out of the Box gives PA as plugin(i meant do we need to activate?) or comes as an application in the servicenow ? current Version- jakarta.

--> OOTB there is a plugin "Performance analytics Premium" which you can activate from Actions button while logging in.

Apart from this you have to activate other plugins like : Performance Analytics - Content Pack - Change ManagementPerformance Analytics - Content Pack - Configuration Management (CMDB) , etc.

OOTB the PA plugin for incident Management is active.

2. Is PA paid plugin ?

--> Yes on Production instance you have to request for activating the plugins and it's paid.

You can activate a licensed Performance Analyticsplugin on a development or test instance without purchasing a subscription.

3. I want to create dashboard for  Incident,Change,Problem and Request Management in PA so what is general reports prepared for this modules?

--> OOTB when you activate the Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request Management , etc plugings it provides you related preconfigured Indicators, Indicators sources, Breakdowns, Breakdown Sources, Dashboard . You can refer them.

4. And last question, does PA gives the data in real time or does it provide the information till last day(yesterday)?

-->Yes, PA Provides you with the data till last day. I am not sure about the real time data.

PA is not real time, like the reporting side is. PA has data collection jobs that run and collect the data. I think we are the norm where we run the jobs once a day in early morning so our PA indicators show counts from the prior day. You could set the collection jobs to run multiple times throughout the day if you wanted the counts refreshed more often - it still wouldn't be real time though and depending on your volume, you may not want to run the jobs during the day.
