As an ITIL/Viz Creator, I added an existing visualization to my dashboard. When trying to configure the visualization it gives the message "You cannot configure this element. The owner did not share it with editing permissions." and i cannot do anything with it. I can unlink from library and then even duplicate the visualization however the same message persists. I need to be able to use these visualizations on the dashboard, unlink them and be able to change some of the criteria. Is this a bug or am i doing something wrong in this scenario?
The only way i found around it is to unlink the original from library, duplicate. Then open configuration on the duplicate, add to library. Then it gives it a name and description and after that, its editable. This seems odd. Why does it need to be added to library to edit it? I can then again unlink from library and still edit it.

A data visualization that isn't shared with editing permissions can't be edited by you. That's also very logical, because it is in the library for others to use 'as is'. Some one created it and if you change it, you change it for all users, so also on the dashboards it has been added to.
You will need to make your own version of it, to be able to use it with different logic.
About not changing the ownership of the visualization after copying: check if you have updated your plugin for PAE to the latest version.

Everything is up to date on my PDI. It just seems like when you unlink, it takes a while for it to register. If i impersonate someone else and then go back to myself, i can then edit the configuration of the visualization. I think its a bit buggy is all.
It is logical that you cannot edit something not shared with you. Its not logical to unlink from library, meaning it is now mine to configure as i please, and but won't let me. I think i have the solution though.. Patience.. just wait a bit and then it is editable. Buggy but will work it looks like.

Since this is a bug, could you create a case with Support? Or if you aren't an admin, ask an admin to do it?
