Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (64-bit) and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (64-bit) Installation

Hello Guys,

I just want to seek your assistance in handling the Acrobat Reader migration to 64-bit, Adobe made the application a unified installer/application for Acrobat and Acrobat Reader.

SNOW detected Adobe Acrobat (64-bit) as an unlicensed installation whereas it can be Acrobat Reader only or Acrobat Pro for some of our subscribed users.

Findings:

When starting the application is presented as "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (64-bit), however, in Add/Remove programs it shows up as "Adobe Acrobat DC (64-bit)".

Do you have any suggestions on how can we handle this?

Hi PeakyBlinder

Thanks to the way in which Adobe packages their Acrobat software, this is a common challenge for software discovery.  Adobe has made some recommendations to use SWIDs to better identify their installs.

Alternatively, there is a custom solution proposed by ServiceNow to help gather edition details from sources like SCCM.
