Adobe Products

Hi Team,

I need some guidance regarding our recent Adobe integration in SAM Pro.

Background:

  • We recently implemented SAM Pro and our initial goal was to load all Adobe entitlements into the system.

  • The Adobe integration was completed successfully, and we are receiving data from the Adobe Portal into User Subscription.

Challenges Observed:

  • After loading Adobe Creative Cloud entitlements into SAM Pro:

    • Some models are missing software discovery models (the field appears empty).

    • Some entitlements are loaded but the software installation count does not match correctly.

Question:

  • Is it possible to achieve license compliance in SAM Pro without discovery models for Adobe only, or are they mandatory for accurate compliance reporting?

Hi,

would be good if you can share more details.

The Adobe SaaS integration imports user subscriptions details and creates software models during the import, based on the subscription identifiers.

Discovery models are created for each unique combination of software install records attributes (publisher, product, version, edition). Without software install records no discovery models are created.

In case of any missing install counts, please review and normalize the discovery models to match the software model attributes, as this is the reference between both object.

best, Dennis

Hi Dennis,

Thank you for the explanation.

We are receiving data through discovery; however, some software models are not associated with any Software Discovery Model. I understand this could be due to issues with the source data.

That said, even though certain Software Models are not linked to any Software Discovery Models, they are still showing the correct counts after reconciliation in License metrics—this seems to be because of the Adobe SaaS integration.

My question is:
Does this impact our compliance position for integrated SaaS products?

For example, in the case of Adobe, after integration, we receive user subscription data directly from the Adobe Cloud Console. However, there are no software installation counts since no Software Discovery Model is discovered for some Software model.

Hi there, I have just been through your pain with Adobe.  What are you trying to achieve?  It sounds like you are double counting installations and subscriptions.  Do you want to do that?

Adobe is subscription only so it does not matter where and how the software is installed.

If you do want to track the software for whatever reason, then make sure the discovery map, software model and discovery model is completed.  Then just ensure that the 'License under management' check box is unchecked.  That will stop SAMP from trying to apply licencing to the installed software.
