Hello @Manisha Yadav
The ast_license_msft (Microsoft License) table in ServiceNow is populated through IT Asset Management (ITAM), specifically via Software Asset Management (SAM) when integrating with Microsoft licensing data sources.
We have both Azure AD and Microsoft SCCM Integration -
Integration with Microsoft SCCM or Azure AD
ServiceNow integrates with Microsoft SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) or Azure AD to pull in license data.
The integration syncs installed software, license entitlements, and usage data into ServiceNow, which then updates ast_license_msft.
Data is fetched using MID Server for on-prem SCCM or directly via API for Azure AD.
ServiceNow Discovery & SAM Pro
Discovery & Software Asset Management Professional (SAM Pro) automatically detect Microsoft software installs.
The detected installations are matched with license entitlements, updating ast_license_msft.
Normalization rules in SAM ensure correct publisher, product, and version details.
Also, obviously if there is any scheduled imports on the table.
Kindly mark my answer as helpful and accept solution if it helped you in anyway. This will help me be recognized for the efforts and also move this questions from unsolved to solved bucket.
Regards,
Shivalika

Hi Shivalika,
Thanks for detailed email.
We do have SCCM and Intune integration in place, but still Software license table is not getting populated, does it require some extra configurations?

Hi @Shivalika,
sounds interesting, never heard/seen that Intune/SCCM is able to bring software entitlements into SAMP. Are you able to share a few screenshots - license entitlements in SCCM/Intune and the imported result in SAMP.
Thanks, Dennis

Hello @Manisha Yadav
Yes, there is some setting in Intune and SCCM side. Of course Licenses are paid, so maybe they don't have it configured that way for your instance.
Here, is the process -
SCCM and Intune co-management to properly populate the software license table you need to ensure that the "Software Inventory" workload is assigned to Intune within the co-management configuration.
Co-management Workloads:
In co-management, you assign specific workloads (like Software Inventory, Device Configuration, etc.) to either SCCM or Intune.
Software Inventory:
The Software Inventory workload is responsible for collecting software installation data, which is then used to populate the Software License table.
Intune as the Authority:
When you assign the Software Inventory workload to Intune, Intune becomes the authority for collecting and reporting software inventory data, and the Software License table will be populated accordingly.
Configuration Manager Console:
You can configure the co-management workloads through the Configuration Manager console under "Administration" > "Cloud Services" > "Co-management".
You might need to check out some microsoft articles for the same or connect with your counterpart on Microsoft side for the same.
