Hi All,

My customer has requested a guide for the operations team to proactively monitor and maintain a healthy ITOM and ITAM environment. The guide will include daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly activities.

I am preparing a BAU (Business as Usual) document for the ITOM and ITAM (SAM & HAM) tracks and would like your input on the following:

  • OOTB Capabilities:

    • What out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities can be enabled for a BAU perspective?
    • Are there any specific configurations or customizations recommended for OOTB capabilities?
  • Documentation References:

    • Are there existing documentation references or resources that can assist in this process?
    • Any best practices guides or case studies for ITOM and ITAM BAU?
  • Monitoring and Reporting:

    • What are the key metrics and KPIs to monitor regularly for ITOM and ITAM?
    • Are there pre-built dashboards or reports available in the system?
  • Automation Opportunities:

    • Are there automation workflows or processes that can help reduce manual efforts?
    • Any recommendations for leveraging orchestration or scheduled jobs for BAU tasks?
  • Proactive Health Checks:

    • What periodic health checks should be implemented to ensure smooth operations?
    • Are there any diagnostic tools or scripts available for ITOM and ITAM?
  • Governance and Compliance:

    • What steps should be taken to ensure compliance with software asset management (SAM) and hardware asset management (HAM)?
    • Are there standard audits or reviews that should be scheduled?

Looking forward to your insights and recommendations.

Thanks, KUMAR

Hi,

I would recommend to use the Now Create content and search for the SAM Process Guide. This will give you an good overview about all required activities and with your customer you can define a BAU activity list.

same Guide is also available für Discovery.

Best, Dennis
