Can ServiceNow itself be tracked in SAM, given that it is a leading SaaS provider? like a list of licenced users, entitlements, subscribing applications, and consumption counts so we can reclaim low usages, similar to how we can with other SaaS?
Whether ServiceNow is an excellent example of a business application according to CSDM, and its functional fit study in APM, I was asking if there was a justification for ServiceNow not being on the list of SaaS.
I'm certain that customers would like to have access to this information and take measures to delete any underused or allocated users from ServiceNow (or any other service) given the rising cost of licences. Although the offline complaint report and subscription management dashboard are useful, I am considering using SAM to track the entitlement and its usages in a central location among other SaaS and locally installed applications.
Thanks

I have asked for this a number of times! ServiceNow license entitlements is complex and we spend a lot of time working it out. It is incomprehensible that there is not an easy to use SAMPro SaaS plugin.

Hello @anand9 ,
It would be helpful if we get all the details in Software subscription table to know whether users are using Servicenow or not but i believe there might be a alternative to it already that is the reason Servicenow is not included in SAAS and also Servicenow comes under PAAS and not SAAS. But if you want to track the license usage or the last login of users you can go to sys_users table and you can find a field 'Last Login' on which you can create the reports to analyze the data further more. Raise a Servicenow Hi case and see what they have to say about this.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for replying. ServiceNow is PAAS if you are using ServiceNow mainly to to build custom application. But for most customer it is a SAAS solution. I know I can track license count from sys_user, but that could be true for most other SAAS platform on their own platform. However, the whole point of SAM is to track at centralized location, and if I have to build custom report, that defeat the purpose of SAM. ServiceNow SAM shows the statistics of whole world, but I have to struggle to get my own application statistics? Business user incharge of managing/tracking corporate license can use SAM for other application but have to use other dashboard to track own platform license? How ServiceNow is any different than Jira/office 365 etc for them?
