I work for an organisation managing about 5000 endpoints and considering a SAM solution. We'd initially look to manage Microsoft and VMWare software. Most MS office products are O365.
I'm very interested to get a sense of
a) The implementation overhead of SAM Pro Vs SAM Plugin
I understand that I'd have to get entitlement details into the system in either case. In SAM Plugin I'd also have to create software models
b) The maintenance effort of SAM Pro Vs SAM Plugin
I'd need to maintain the models and do more manual auditing with the SAM Plugin. Anything else?
If you have any feel, I'd also be interested to know your thought on compliance risk - SAM Free (where there is increased chance of human error) vs SAM Pro (where the technology might give a false sense of security?)
